Who Owns the ePortfolio

The ownership of the ePortfolio process is important to the learners because it gives them choice, ownership, voice, and it is authentic. When these four things are provided to the students, they are encouraged to learn how to learn. It allows the students to present their own ideas and to have more meaningful connections. When the students are in charge of the process, the ePortfolio is more meaningful to them because their creativity and voice are valuable.

When I moved to this country, I was always amazed on how the education motivated the creation of solutions and the generation of new ideas. This is why an effective ePortfolio is important, because it shows how the owner is growing and contributing to the world with solutions and ideas.

My ePortfolio is very important for me now. At least once a week, I take the time to go back and reflect on how I could improve it. I keep learning how to do different things and how to find answers. I know it might open new doors for me so I want it to present who I am and how I am the owner of my learning.
